Project Welcome

Discover Canada’s small cities through occupation-specific mentoring and community connections

Project Welcome connects immigrating professionals to smaller communities throughout Canada prior to arrival. This program creates connections and encourage newcomers to settle in smaller communities, as well as increase the ability of small communities to attract new immigrants.

Project Welcome will leverage JVS Toronto’s existing knowledge and technology in online mentoring to encourage newcomer settlement in these communities and foster welcoming environments. We will do that through partnerships with local community organizations that will engage mentors and employers and connect them to mentees.

Through our online platform, you can:

  • Learn about the Canadian labour market, communities with labour shortages and what skills are in demand
  • Access interactive Welcome Toolkits on living and working in small communities that will help you make informed decisions
  • Connect to local employers and occupation-specific Canadian mentors who share in-depth information about employment in your field
  • Get settlement support through local immigrant organizations and services

Open to internationally trained professionals approved to immigrate to Canada in the next 2 to 12 months.
