Many newcomers arrive in Canada and learn they do not have correct credentials or licensing requirements to work in their area of expertise.  This causes long delays in starting work.  Many new Canadians experience a great degree of frustration due to the differences in standards between their native country and Canada.

Depending on your profession or trade, you may be required to apply to regulatory bodies to receive a license to work in your preferred field in Canada.  Regulations and credentials vary between professions and sectors.  It is advisable to contact representatives in your field early on, in order to find out about possible licensing or upgrading requirements.  Being properly informed about requirements will speed up the process of finding employment in Canada.
