The CanadaInfoNet Mentors Community

What is a Mentor?

CanadaInfoNet Mentors are Canadians who have succeeded in achieving employment, education and/or settlement goals.  Mentors are volunteers who assist newcomers by sharing their own experiences and offering guidance and support.  They work with Mentees in order to meet the challenges of settling in Canada, obtaining necessary skills, credentials or licenses and finding employment in their specific field of expertise.  Through their wisdom and support, Mentors help Mentees gain valuable information needed to pursue a successful livelihood, while helping them feel more at home in Canada.

The Benefits of Becoming a CanadaInfoNet Mentor

If you are considering becoming a part of the CanadaInfoNet Mentoring Community, here are some of the benefits you can realize through the program:

  • You will increase your knowledge of subjects relating to Settlement, Education and Employment for newcomers via CanadaInfoNet's online, interactive Mentoring Training and Support Program.
  • Mentors interact with other Mentors via regular online discussion groups. This enhances  the development of a professional network.
  • Online mentoring allows for maximum flexibility in scheduling.
  • Mentors can work with their Mentees from their own home.
  • It's an opportunity for Mentors to share knowledge, experience, and skills with like-minded individuals.
  • It's an opportunity for Mentors to contribute to the socio-economic development of Canada and the advancement of newcomers.

The CandaInfoNet.org Online Mentoring Program is designed to make Mentees feel confident and supported in their endeavours.  Together as partners, both Mentors and Mentees share valuable knowledge that enhances their career paths.
